EUJS Press Release – Reaction after murderous attack in Brussels

The 9th EUJS Ambassadors to the UN Seminar
Geneva, June 22-26
Next week, from the 22nd to the 26th of June, the European Union of Jewish Students will be in Geneva with a delegation of 20 selected students for its annual “EUJS Ambassadors at the UN” seminar.
Through skill building workshops on diplomacy and lobbying, lectures on International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights and high-level meetings with ambassadors and leading NGOs, the EUJS Ambassadors will experience the politicized world of the United Nations Human Rights Council. They will closely follow the deliberations of the Council, and draw attention to the institutional bias against Israel and neglected Human Rights violation situations around the world through speeches to the Council.

In light of the abduction of the three Israeli teenagers Eyal Yifrach, Gilad Shaar and Naftali Frankel last weekend, the participants will receive training in International Humanitarian Law with the Israeli-based NGO ALMA-IHL, visit the International Committee of the Red Cross, and engage with ambassadors and experts in Human Rights, such as UN Watch Executive Director Hillel Neuer and AJC’s Jacob Blaustein Institute Director Felice Gaer. The EUJS delegation will urge the UN Human Rights Council, ambassadors and NGOs to join in strongly condemning the abduction and taking hostage of the three teens.
