Cabinet Unanimously Approves the Appointment of Dr. Karnit Flug as Governor of the Bank of Israel

The Cabinet, today (Sunday, 27 October 2013), unanimously approved the appointment of Dr. Karnit Flug as Governor of the Bank of Israel<www.pmo.gov.il/English/MediaCenter/Spokesman/Pages/spokeflug231013.aspx >. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, „Karnit Flug has the appropriate background and experience<www.boi.org.il/en/AboutTheBank/OfficeHolders/Pages/KarnitFlug.aspx > and she has fulfilled her position [as Acting Governor] in recent months very well. In addition to the fact that we are successfully navigating the Israeli economy in the face of the global crisis, Israel’s economic leadership must continue to advance growth and employment, increase exports and lower housing prices. We wish Karnit Flug success.”
