THE GOOD YEAR.
The good news: Final data of outgoing year indicates: 2007 was success.
2. AND BAD NEWS AS WELL: SEA OF GALILEE LEVEL LOWEST IN FIVE YEARS.

Yediot Ahronot complains about what it refers to as the „infantilism” of the Israeli political system, which is expecting, like children awaiting a kindergarten teacher to send home a child who has misbehaved, the publication of the final Winograd Committee report. „They are certain that it is not their responsibility, even though they receive a salary to use their heads and to safeguard the public interests.”
Ma’ariv believes it important that the Likud follow through with its reported intentions to reinstate to its Central Committee the authority to choose its party’s Knesset members and ministers. This, the editors contend, will return to the political echelons, the power which, due to its weakness and inadequacy, has been eroded from it by the country’s bureaucracy.
