Job Description

 

Focus

The newly inaugurated Herzl Center in Budapest is dedicated to educate and raise awareness regarding Herzl’s legacy, his work and life. In this framework, the center deals with Zionism, antisemitism, and Hungarian Zionist Youth Movements and the connection between the Diaspora Jewry and Israel. The Center is located in the Israeli Cultural Center, the ICI.

 

The position is for a local Coordinator who will market, run and promote the center and the agenda it presents with enthusiasm and creativity. To this end, the Coordinator will develop and implement a dynamic and effective range of educational, social and cultural activities to increase the flow of visitors to the Center, and attract potential donors to ensure the future of the center.

The position also requires the coordinator to work with the Jewish community at large with the aim of instilling the department’s goals of Zionism and engagement with Israel.

 

 

Desired Skills and Attributes

A knowledge of and identification with the aims of the Zionist Movement and commitment to the principles of the department.

Experience in/engagement with the discussion of Jewish-Zionist identity

Demonstrated experience in leading educational activities and in marketing

High-level organizational skills including effective office administration.

Good interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication.

Ability to work both individually and in a team.

Sound computer skills including MS office, social media & internet applications

Past participation in an Israel program – advantage.

Fluent English (both in speech and in writing: Mandatory;
Knowledge of Hebrew – advantage.

 

 

25 hr per week position.

Work schedule flexible.
