Prime Minister Netanyahu and Finance Minister Lapid continue to look for a governor for the Bank of Israel.
Lapid was surprised by allegations by former candidate Leo Leiderman. Leiderman claims that it was announced that he was forced to leave the Deutsche Bank because of his personal behavior. He denies these allegations. Terkel from the Terkel commision told him that the term „sexual harassment” was not listed in his file.
There is great pressure to find the next Governer in order to allow the Bank of Israel to continue its important work.
Two rabbis claim that the newly appointed Rabbi Lau cheated on exams for his ordination. They claim that he used materials from outside of the exam room during the exam.
Rabbi Dov Leor who supported the rival candidate for the Chief Rabbi claims that these allegations are correct. Either there is an ugly conspiracy against Rabbi Lau or Rabbi Lau conducted himself in a way not befitting the Chief Rabbi of Israel.
Tomorrow the Health Ministry will begin administering the polio vaccine to all children in the south of Israel. The director general of the Health Ministry claims that there are more than 1,000 cases at the moment. He tried to calm all parents, explaining that although the vaccine is from a live polio virus, there is no danger to their children.
The US closed 22 missions in the Middle East and North Africa due to threats by Al Qaeda. The assumption is that the terrorists are already in place to implement these threats.
There is also a traveler’s warning to all US citizens.
After US intelligence intercepted threats on the internet, the US decided to take these extreme precautions.
