First Israeli ambassador in Turkmenistan presents credentials

Ambassador Tzur promised that Israel will share its know-how with Turkmenistan and recalled the commitment of the Government of Israel to finding a peaceful solution to the conflict in its area

Yesterday, June 19th 2013, Ambassador Shemi Tzur presented his credentials to the President of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, thus becoming Israel’s first resident ambassador in Ashgabat, capital of Turkmenistan.

After the official ceremony, Ambassador Tzur held a conversation with the President and with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rashid Meredov.

The President mentioned his visit to Israel in 1997, in his capacity as Minister of Health, and expressed his deep appreciation for Israel’s achievements in the fields of medicine, agriculture and water, areas in which he seeks cooperation with Israel. The President insisted that cooperation, understanding and economic projects are a good basis for solving problems and conflicts.
