Ki a hülye? Ők vagy mi? Ki gárgyul bele saját magába? Ezeket a kérdéseket is felteszi az izraeli Niv Sheinfeld és Oren Laor táncprodukciója. Három karakter, egy nő és két férfi építi újra az európai kultúra középkor óta visszatérő allegóriáját, a kormányos és kapitány nélkül hánykolódó lélekvesztőt, a „bolondok hajóját”.

A gyarlóság és a szentség, az önfeláldozás és az önzés között hánykolódó emberi lélek több száz éves allegóriája a „bolondok hajója”.
A középkorban feltűnt, kormányos és kapitány nélkül tengerről tengerre, folyóról folyóra hánykolódó lélekvesztő a 15. századtól visszatérő motívuma az európai kultúrkörnek. Az izraeli Niv Sheinfeld és Oren Laor által színpadra állított, kortárs tánccal és szövegekkel megbolondított produkcióban három karakter, egy nő és két férfi találkozik a fedélzeten. S bár körmükszakadtáig őrzik saját kis világukat, egy idő után ki kell pakolniuk batyuikból. Utasként előbb-utóbb szóba kell állniuk egymással, különben esélytelenek a túlélésre.
A számos kortárs seregszemlén sikerrel szereplő előadást az ABBA, a Pet Shop Boys és Michael Jackson zenéje teszi még szórakoztatóbban elgondolkodtatóvá.

Who’s the fool? Us or them? Who has crazed themselves? Such and similar questions are posed by the dance production of the Israeli Niv Sheinfeld and Oren Laor. Three characters, a woman and two men reconstruct the allegory that first appeared in European culture in the Middle Ages, the vessel without a helmsman or a captain, the Ship of Fools.

For hundreds of years, the ship of fools has been an allegory of man’s soul tossing about between frailty and holiness, self-sacrifice and selfishness.
Adrift on the seas and rivers with no seaman to hold its helm, the ship has been a recurring motif in European culture since the 15th century. Staged by the Israeli Niv Sheinfeld and Oren Laor, and spiced up with contemporary dance and lyrics, this production relates the encounter of a woman and two men on board. And though each will defend their own world to the last ditch, in time each will need to reveal the content of their bag. All passengers on the same boat, they need to enter into a conversation if they want to survive.
Performed with success at several contemporary festivals, the production is made more entertaining and thought-provoking by the music of ABBA, the Pet Shop Boys and Michael Jackson.
