Aviation Industry Summit Meeting

EL AL Chairman of the Board Amikam Cohen and EL AL CEO Elyezer Shkedy hosted Jim Albaugh, Executive Vice President of the Boeing Company, on his first visit to Israel

The world aviation situation and anticipated difficulties in 2012 were among the issues discussed at the meeting. The subject of EL AL’s fleet renewal – with wide-body and narrow-body aircraft – arose as well.

EL AL CEO Elyezer Shkedy: “We are proud to host Jim Albaugh, Executive Vice President of the Boeing Company, on his first visit to Israel. EL AL and Boeing have an excellent, long-standing partnership and EL AL has an all-Boeing fleet. Recently we announced our order of 4 – 8 modern 739-900 aircraft and we hope to continue investing in wide-body planes in the near future as well.”

Executive Vice President of the Boeing Company Jim Albaugh: “We are pleased to be here today, celebrating our partnership with EL AL, a leading international airline, and I hope our cooperation will continue for many more years and that EL AL’s fleet will continue to be based on Boeing aircraft. Together with EL AL, we will prepare a long-range plan for the airline’s fleet.”

EL AL’s present fleet comprises 38 Boeing aircraft.
