SUMMARY OF EDITORIALS FROM THE HEBREW PRESS Yediot Ahronot lauds the success and role of AIPAC and recalls that former Russian President Vladimir Putin once jokingly asked former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon to help set up a similar organization to link the Russian Diaspora with Russia.  The author asks, „How does one explain that AIPAC is the Jewish People’s unique product that cannot be imitated?” Ma’ariv questions the Government’s policy toward Swine Flu and says that, „The Defense Ministry has no advantage over the Health Ministry in dealing with Swine Flu.” Yisrael Hayom comments on President Shimon Peres’ current trip to Washington and suggests that he, „has taken upon himself a difficult task: To break the ice for Benjamin Netanyahu en route to Barack Obama.”  The author speculates that, „It seems that while Netanyahu will not tell Obama that the Government will adopt the formula of ‘two states for two peoples’, some form of ‘two states’ will be presented by Israel in the US President’s talks with the Prime Minister.”  The paper believes that the current AIPAC conference is, in effect, a dress rehearsal and commends President Peres’ speech.  However, the author rejects as, „unacceptable,” White House Chief-of-Staff Rahm Emmanuel’s apparent linking between US to prevent Iran from going nuclear and Israeli flexibility vis-ŕ-vis the Palestinians, and believes that this might embolden the Palestinians into taking a harder line.
