Haaretz contends that the greatest danger in the Likud campaign isn’t in the way it spreads its messages or the fear that people working to reelect the prime minister are using fake accounts on social media, but rather in PM Netanyahu’s strategy of “trying to unify his supporters with the tried and true method of accusing his opponents of arrogance and insulting the intelligence of Likud voters.” The editor accuses the Likud’s leader of arrogance for belittling the intelligence of Likud voters and his belief they are motivated by feelings of inferiority, and declares: “Candidate Netanyahu offers his voters nothing but self-praise and victimhood. There’s no platform and no plan of action for the next term, just a deep disgust for the institutions of government, law enforcement and any media outlet not the free daily Israel Hayom.”

Yediot Aharonot believes that the current relative quiet along Israel’s border with the Gaza Strip “has turned into an important part, which for now has yet to be revealed, of Donald Trump’s self-titled Deal of the Century,” and states: “It seems as if the only one who can break this chain from Israel to Hamas, via Egypt, to the White House is Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.”  The author argues that Abbas and his ministers are caught in a trap, and adds: “They are attacking the American plan, feuding with Trump as they are with Netanyahu, and they have no solution or alternative plan.”

Israel Hayom notes: “As things stand right now, 18 Knesset seats are still up for grabs, waiting for the undecided voters. That means that 15% of Israelis eligible to vote in the upcoming election have yet to make a decision,” and adds: “No outcome would be a surprise in this election.” The author contends that “The most likely outcome would be a small victory for the right-wing bloc, and for Netanyahu to continue to serve as prime minister,” but points out: “no one would be surprised if there is a dramatic turnaround.”
