UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres told the conference that “Antisemitism has survived across the millenia, but it should have no place in the 21st century,” Guterres added. “Being true to our charter means combating antisemitism and hatred with all of our will.”

WJC President Lauder thanks Austrian Chancellor Kurz for his commitment in the fight against anti-Semitism
In his remarks, Chancellor Kurz said: “Because of our history, we have a special responsibility to Jews and the Jewish community in Austria, and to Israel. It is our duty to fight against all forms of antisemitism, in Austria and in EU.”

WJC appeals to Catholic Church of Croatia to cancel mass honoring Ustasha criminals
“In the current climate of rising antisemitism and Holocaust revisionism in Croatia and elsewhere in Europe, it is beyond disconcerting to learn that the church has chosen to openly glorify Ustasha criminals,” wrote WJC President Lauder and CEO Singer in a letter to Archbishop of Zagreb Cardinal Josip Bozanic and Monsignor Želimir Puljic, President of the Croatian Bishop’s conference.

WJC at UNHRC: Victims of genocide should never be forgotten
WJC Jewish Diplomat Aurélie Casahoursat delivered a statement on the United Nations Human Rights Council floor on September 13th on behalf of the WJC urging the Council to ensure that the victims of genocide are never forgotten and never denied.

Speaking out on combating Holocaust denial at the UN Human Rights Council“More than 70 years after the end of the Holocaust, we remain dismayed that humanity has not learned from its past mistakes.”
Aurélie Casahoursat of the WJC – Jewish Diplomatic Corps, the flagship diplomacy program of the WJC, spoke out at the UN Human Rights Council on the prevention of genocide and the importance to combating Holocaust denial.
The European Parliament Budgetary Committee voted this week to freeze 15 million Euros in aid to the Palestinian Authority. Multiple Jewish organizations have lodged complaints with the government over it’s construction and consider it a high insult to the Jewish community there, where thousands of lives were lost in the Holocaust.A row has erupted in Sweden over the potential deportation of the perpetrator of the Gothenburg Synagogue attack. After the Court of Appeal for Western Sweden overturned a district court’s deportation order for the man, Sweden’s Migration Agency has made the argument that the 22-year-old Palestinian man has no guaranteed right to remain.
