At the end of World War II, only 140,000 Jews remained in Hungary, down from 750,000 in 1941. In 1956 following the Hungarian revolution about 2% of the population of Hungary fled to the West, including Jews.By 1967, only about 85,000 Jews remained in Hungary. The film ”The 1956 Hungarian Revolution” by the BBC (20:09 minutes) will follow the lecture.
