Petitioning United Nations Human Rights Council

Call on „Human Rights for the Human Rights Council” by the removal of the biased Item #7.

The United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) holds its Regular Session three times a year. Agenda Item #7 is a permanent agenda Item focusing solely on Israel, making Israel the one and only country with its own Agenda Item. The existence of this Agenda Item symbolises the extreme bias and singling out of Israel conducted within the UNHRC, and undermines human rights and the work of the Council.

We hereby Call on „Human Rights for the Human Rights Council” by the removal of the biased Item #7.

·       FOR Human Rights within The Human Rights Council

…and…

·       AGAINST bias and singling out of Israel!

The United Nations Human Rights Council was created in 2006, then replacing the United Nations Commission on Human Rights which dissolved itself due to an increase of member states who violated human rights, and lack of integrity. Let’s not allow this Council to follow the footsteps of its predecessors. Singling out Israel, holding a full-day agenda Item devoted only to Israel, undermines the protection of global human rights and undermines the integrity of the Council.

We held a Rally outside of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva, Switzerland – 21/03/2016 during the 31st Regular Session.

See the video from our rally HERE.

We will be delivering all the signatures prior to the 32nd Regular Session, which will be held in June 2016.
