Jordanian-Hungarian business forum opens today

AMMAN — Participants in a Jordanian-Hungarian business forum, to be held on Monday, are scheduled to discuss bilateral economic, trade and investment ties. Agreements between the two countries’ private sectors will be signed during the forum, organised by the Jordan Chamber of Commerce and the Jordan Europe Business Association (JEBA). The forum will be attended by Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour and his Hungarian counterpart Victor Orban along with 50 businesspeople from the European country and representatives of Jordan’s private sector. The Kingdom and Hungary are signatory to several agreements and memorandums of understanding, although the trade volume between the two countries remains below the anticipated level. The Kingdom’s imports from the East European nation stood at $43 million while exports amounted to $4 million last year.
