Yisrael Hayom
argues that „The lack of a red line and the White House’s insistence on talking with lawless Muslim regimes is eroding America’s deterrent power and gives a green light for the intensification of terrorism.”Yediot Aharonot avers that „The eruption of prices that is actually transpiring just prior to the elections is not being answered, not even a blink, from our future representatives. Silence before the elections has gripped everyone, from party chairmen to the last of the candidates to join the race. Elections are at the threshold. All anyone could have expected was an all-out attempt to seize the votes of the masses, but instead from everywhere is heard an insulting silence.” The author suggests: „The basic mistake, on the part of both those who are raising prices and our representatives, is the assumption that the scent of protests has indeed worn off; it has not,” and cautions: „The next outbreak will be much less refined than the previous round, and it is possible to glimpse at Europe in order to understand the trend.”

Haaretz awards Israel Police a certificate of bad conduct for indicting and keeping a teenager in jail for many months even though the teen’s DNA didn’t match that of the attacker, and declares that while innocent people sometimes fall victim to false arrest or are even wrongly convicted, “justice and morality obligate those responsible to be held accountable for their negligence, while their superiors must conduct a thorough inquiry and make every effort to prevent recurrences.”

The Jerusalem Post believes that “Regardless of who wins the 2012 US presidential election, the ties between America and the Jewish state will remain strong,” and adds: “The two countries have too much in common and too much to gain from their special relationship to allow petty partisan differences to drive a wedge between them.”
