Cabinet Approves Appointment of Harel Locker as Prime Minister’s Office Director-General
The Cabinet today (Sunday), 18.12.11, approved the appointment of attorney Harel Locker as Director-General of the Prime Minister’s Office.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu noted that Locker has a great combination of exceptional qualities. „I am certain that he will become acclimated very quickly and will carry out his duties in the best way possible. Harel is an example of someone who has succeeded in the private sector and has gone to the public sector out of a sense of mission. This is a welcome and important phenomenon for the State of Israel. I am certain that he will succeed.”

Harel Locker holds a Bachelor Degree of Law (LL.B) from Tel Aviv University School of Law, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Accounting from Tel Aviv University School of Management, and a Master’s Degree of Law (LL.M) in Taxation, with distinction, from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, DC.
Locker has extensive experience in the business sector and with various Government ministries and specializes in various issues in the commercial-economic sphere, such as tax law, companies law, real estate and infrastructures, mergers and acquisitions, high-tech, venture capital and international transactions.
From 2007 until the present, he served as a senior partner and member of the managerial staff at S. Friedman and Co., one of Israel’s leading and senior commercial law firms.
From 2004-2007, he was a managing partner at the law firm of Shohat, Locker & Co.
From 2001-2004, he was an associate at the major Wall Street law firm of Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver and Jacobson.
From 1995-2000, he was a senior partner at the law firm of Shekel and Co.
Harel Locker is a Captain in the IDF reserve, and served in both Judea and Samaria, and in Lebanon.
He was born in Tel Aviv, is 46, married and the father of three, and currently lives in Ramat Hasharon.
