AMMAN (JT) – His Majesty King Abdullah will pay a visit to Ramallah today during which he will hold talks with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, according to a Royal Court statement.
The visit comes in line with Jordan’s support for the Palestinian National Authority and the Palestinian people, the statement added.
The King’s visit to Ramallah is also within the framework of his support to the efforts exerted to achieve Middle East peace, leading to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the basis of the 1967 borders and in accordance with the two-state solution.
His Majesty has in recent press interviews renewed criticism of the incumbent Israeli government for its unilateral actions and lack of interest in the two-state solution.
