The editors add that this will set a dangerous precedent in which the state is willing to, “accept his criminal actions,” and that a norm will be created whereby “revealing essential information to the authorities is not a clear obligation in itself, rather an act that can be traded on.” The paper declares that no sound government can sign an agreement with Elhanan Tennenbaum. Yediot Ahronot condemns the deal made with Tennenbaum and says that it, “shows poor judgment and strengthens the feeling that someone – not just Tennenbaum – has an interest in removing the issue completely from the public agenda as fast as possible.” The editors state that, “He has a simple obligation to say everything he knows.” BPI
