Germany extends Holocaust compensation to survivors’ spouses

Until now, pension payments to Holocaust survivors had been stopped upon their death, but Berlin has now agreed to continue survivors’ pensions for nine months after a death to a spouse. Germany also agrees to increase social welfare service funding for survivors by $50 million to a total of around $592 million for 2020.
