| השגריר דנון ושגרירת ארה”ב לאו”ם, ניקי היילי, נפגשו לאחר כניסתה של היילי לתפקיד ודנו בהעמקת שיתוף הפעולה בין המשלחות באו”ם ובשינוי היחס המפלה של האו”ם כלפי ישראל. במהלך הפגישה הודה השגריר דנון לשגרירה היילי על דברי התמיכה החד משמעיים שהביעה כלפי ישראל. השגריר דנון אמר בתום הפגישה: „השגרירה היילי היא ידידת אמת של ישראל ואנו מצפים לעבוד יחד בשיתוף פעולה הדוק ולהוביל עידן חדש של שינויים משמעותיים באו”ם.” |

| Ambassador Danon met with the US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley after she assumed her new post. During their meeting they discussed ways to deepen the cooperation between the two missions and how to change the UN’s biased approach towards Israel. Ambassador Danon thanked Ambassador Haley for her unequivocal support for Israel. „Ambassador Haley is a true friend of Israel and we are looking forward to leading together towards a new era of close cooperation and implanting significant change at the UN,” said Ambassador Danon. |

Ambassador Danon harshly criticized Mahmoud Abbas’ remarks at the opening of the current session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva.
„Abbas and the Human Rights Council have joined together in a campaign of incitement against Israel. It is no surprise that this Council, which has long been divorced from reality, has chosen once again to provide a platform for Palestinian smears against us,” said Ambassador Danon. „It is time that Abbas and the Palestinian leadership understand that a new era has dawned at the UN in which speeches and one-sided initiatives against Israel will not succeed,” the Ambassador added. |

| השגריר דנון הרצה בפני כ-300 סטודנטים באוניברסיטת קולומביה על האתגרים של ישראל בזירה הבינלאומית. בזמן הרצאתו הפגינו סטודנטים מתנועת החרם על ישראל מחוץ לאוניברסיטה וחלקם ניסו לקטוע את ההרצאה, התפרצו לדבריו והחלו בקריאות מסיתות נגד ישראל. דנון פנה אל המפגינים ואמר: ״אנחנו לא נשתוק מול השקרים שאתם מפיצים על ישראל, אנחנו נמשיך להשמיע את קולנו ונמשיך לעמוד על האמת הצודקת שלנו. הפלסטינים שמסיתים ומכפישים את ישראל, לא מכירים בזכותה להתקיים. יש לי הודעה עבורכם: העם היהודי לעולם לא יעזוב את ארץ ישראל״. |

| Ambassador Danon to BDS Activists Who Interrupted his Speech at Columbia University: „We Won’t be Silenced” |

| Ambassador Danon spoke to more than three hundred students at Columbia University and discussed the challenges facing Israel in the international arena. During his lecture, BDS activists protested outside of the hall and a number of them attempted to interrupt the talk by yelling out anti-Israel smears. Ambassador Danon addressed the protesters directly saying: „We won’t be silent as lies are spread about Israel. We’ll continue to make sure our voice is heard and we will continue to fight for truth and justice. The Palestinians libel and incite against Israel, and do not even recognize our right to exist. I have news for you: the Jewish people will never leave the land of Israel.” |
