- Budget cuts cause reserve duty cancellations
Minister of Defence Moshe Ya’alon has cancelled all reserve operational duty for the remainder of the year following a cut in the defence budget for 2013 and 2014, the Jerusalem Post reports.
Reserve soldiers from four battalions who received call-up notices in the past two weeks will soon be notified that their duties have been canceled for the remainder of the year.

- Teens attack Arab taxi driver in Jerusalem
Naim Aline, 61, A Jerusalem taxi driver was attacked Monday by two Jewish teens.
According to a police investigation, Naim Aline, 61, stopped for the two passengers with his taxi and they asked to be taken to central Jerusalem. During the drive, they told him to go into a side street, where they allegedly put a knife to his neck.
Since no money was stolen during the attack, police are checking whether the attack was racially motivated.

- Israel speeding up missile defence development
Israel is speeding up its development of the Arrow 3 long-range missile interception system, the Times of Israel reports.
The Arrow 3 would be able to target incoming nuclear or conventional missiles at a higher altitude than its shorter-ranged predecessor, the Arrow 2, Col. Aviram Hasson said at the Institute for National Security Studies conference entitled “Aerial Threats in the Modern Age”, on Monday.
