President Shimon Peres on Syria, Tuesday 29th May, 2012
During the visit of the President of Federal Republic of Germany, Mr. Joachim Gauck, President Shimon Peres gave the following statement about the ongoing situation in Syria:
„Their president (Assad), who is supposed to be the father of their nation, became their murderer. Nobody can remain indifferent to it. The reactions until now have been declarations; unfortunately, declarations don’t stop murders and assassinations. I think the time has come to help the Syrians achieve peace and regain their freedom.”
