Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, this evening (Tuesday), 10.2.04, telephoned Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and wished him a quick recovery from the treatment he underwent last night (Monday), 9.2.04. Prime Minister Sharon warmly thanked Egyptian President Mubarak; the two men agreed to continue their joint efforts to advance the peace process in the region. Earlier in the evening, Hassan Abu Libdeh, the Director of Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Abu Ala’s Bureau, telephoned his Israeli counterpart, Dov Weisglass, and relayed Abu Ala’s best wishes for Prime Minister Sharon’s rapid recovery. A senior White House representative likewise passed on – via Dov Weisglass – best wishes for Prime Minister Sharon’s quick recovery.
