Terrorist Attack Foiled Outside Vienna’s Main Synagogue

Austrian police foiled a terrorist attack on the main synagogue in Vienna on the Sabbath. Two Afghan citizens were arrested.

The main Vienna Synagogue, Stadttempel, front entrance. (April 25, 2010). It is also called the Seitenstettengasse Temple and is the main synagogue of Vienna. Built in 1824-1826, this synagogue was fitted into a block of houses and thus was the Jewish house of worship in Vienna to survive the Nazi Holocaust. It has been declared a historic monument.
