WJC welcomes Rivlin’s election as new Israeli head of state

Former Knesset speakler Reuven Rivlin, 74, was elected on Tuesday as new Israeli president. He will succeed Shimon Peres in July. WJC President Ronald Lauder called Rivlin „a man of conviction who will do Israel proud.”
