„Trash People” are coming to Israel
„Trash People”, the monumental exhibition, that has been travelling the globe for 18 years at some of the world’s most beautiful and significant places, including the Alps, the Great Wall of China, the Red Square in Moscow, La Defense in Paris, the Pyramids in Giza Egypt, Piazza del Popolo in Rome and Antarctica – is coming to Israel.
Hundreds of human-size figures constructed from 20 tons of recycled materials, including iron, glass, computer parts, cans and more, will dominate the sky line of Tel Aviv and will be placed on top of Ariel Sharon Park.
The exhibition is built by the German artist HA Schult (<www.haschult.de/>), one of the most controversial artists in the world, whose name has become synonymous with the use of used and recycled materials .
The exhibition is brought to Israel by Ariel Sharon Park (<www.parksharon.co.il/>) and the ELA- Recycling Corporation (<www.ela.org.il/english/content.php?pagename=Home-page>), as part of their efforts to promote awareness to issues of environment and recycling.
It will be in Israel from 5-26 April.
A press conference will be held with the artist on Wednesday, 2 April , that will also give a chance to have a first glimpse at the exhibition, three days before it opens to the public.
