2014 Tel Aviv Marathon Nonstop Party in the Nonstop City
The 2014 Tel Aviv Marathon <www.tlvmarathon.co.il/Default.aspx?l=en> will take place on February 28th, 2014 with 40,000 runners from Israel and abroad participating in the biggest international sports event to take place in Israel.
Among the 1,500 runners from overseas will be Marathon Man (marathonman.com.au/), who will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for most marathons run in a year. He will also attempt to be the first person to complete the highest number of official marathons ran across all 7 continents in 1 year.
In 2013 Marathon Man ran 161 marathons, in 5 continents and 11 countries. All in all he ran 6,793 km in 2013 – an average of 3 marathons a week.
The Marathon will take off at Rokach Blvd. (in front of The Israel Trade Fairs & Conventions – „Merkaz Hayeridim”). It will then pass through the main streets and sites of the city, including Rothschild Blvd. and the White City, Tel Aviv Port and the shore line, Azrieli Center, Sarona, the beach promenade and Ha’Yarkon Park, Old Jaffa and its port, Ibn Gabirol St., Rabin Square and Dizengoff St. .
A record number of 150,000 people are expected to participate in the Marathon and its various events while cheering stations and music stages will be built along the route. The Marathon will end at a huge happening at Ganey Yehoshua.
The Marathons in Tel Aviv started in 1981 while there was a short break in the 90’s with shorter races taking place (10k + half marathon). In 2009, for Tel Aviv’s centennial celebrations, the full marathon returned to Tel Aviv’s streets.

· Mini-Marathon for kids- 420 m
All courses start and end at Rokach Blvd.
The marathons will take place on Friday, February 28th 2014, kick-off time 6:30am. The streets surrounding the event close at 5:00am. Parking is recommended at The Ayalon Mall and in Ramat Hachayal neighborhood.
