BACKGROUND
The meeting will issue a common statement calling for „A Pact for growth and jobs in Europe”.
The document will define concrete progressive measures to tackle the effects of the crisis in Europe, introducing an action plan to tame the financial markets, build stabiltiy and finance growth and employment.
One of the main points will be the need for a European programme to combat youth unemployment, putting special emphasis on a European Youth Guarantee, a campaign that has been a top priority for the PES this year and already has a strong support across Europe.
