- Netanyahu calls on Palestinians to return to peace process
Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu called on Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to renew the peace process, during a speech in the Knesset on Wednesday, Yediot Aharonot reports.
„The citizens of Israel want security,” Netanyahu said. ”The citizens of Israel want peace, and I want peace and security. Anyone familiar with the details of the negotiations knows Israel is not the side evading talks and obstructing them.”

- Mortar shells from Syria land in Golan Heights
Two mortar shells exploded in an open area near the Syrian border in the Golan Heights on Wednesday, Yediot Aharonot reports.
The shells fell south of the town of Majdal-Shams.
Over the last 24 hours fierce battles have been fought between Syrian rebels and forces loyal to the country’s president, Bashar al-Assad in villages adjacent to the border.

- Three arrested for 2009 attack on gay center
Tel Aviv police arrested three suspects on Wednesday in connection with an investigation into the shooting at a LGBT youth centre in 2009, the Jerusalem Post reports.
In a briefing with reporters on Wednesday night, Tel Aviv Police chief Bentzi Sau would not give details about the case, which remains under a court gag order, apart from saying that the suspects were Jewish and that police had ruled out a nationalist motive in the shooting.
The three will be brought to the Tel Aviv Magistrate’s Court on Thursday morning for a remand extension.
On August 1, 2009, a masked gunman entered the basement of the Bar Noar centre in Tel Aviv and opened fire with a pistol, killing Nir Katz, 26, a volunteer and counselor at the centre, and Liz Triboshi, 16. A further 15 people, most of them minors, were wounded.
