President’s message Rosh Hashana 2011

SHANA TOVA

My Dear Sisters and Brothers

On the occasion of the forthcoming High Holy Days and on behalf of the Executive Committee of B’nai B’rith Europe I send you my wishes for a healthy, happy, successful and peaceful New Year of 5772.

Ralph HofmannDuring the last 5771 years our people have been humiliated, pursued and murdered. Even to this day Jews have been made responsible for the death of Jesus, for the plague and for the global financial and economic crisis. But we have survived in spite of all these adversities and will continue to do so. We pray for our Sisters and Brothers in Israel that God may finally grant them the peace which they long for. Our thoughts and our prayers go out to Gilad Shalit and his parents. May he soon return home, out of the hands of his tormentors.

B’nai B’rith, also, must continue to thrive. For this to happen we need the input and work of all our Sisters and Brothers in all Lodges. Our beloved organisation can survive only with your help. To work for Charity (Zedaka) is a Mitzva which concerns every one of us. Let us together strive to live up to the ideals of B’nai B’rith.

In Charity, Brotherly and Sisterly Love and in Harmony.

Shana Tova and Gmar Chatima Tova

Fraternally Yours,

Ralph HOFMANN
President B’nai B’rith Europe
