Prime Minister Ariel Sharon this morning (Monday), 21 November 2005, met with President Moshe Katsav and asked him – in accordance with Article 29 of Basic Law: The Government – to dissolve the Knesset since a majority of the Knesset opposes the Government thus making it impossible for the Government to function properly.
President Katsav told Prime Minister Sharon that he will consult on the issue and inform him of his decision as soon as possible.
