(Communicated by the Tourism Ministry Spokesman) Recent statistics indicate that the trend of a recovery in the movement of tourists to the State of Israel is continuing. 113,000 tourists entered Israel in July 2003, up 54% over July 2002 and slightly greater than the figure for July 2001.


The numbers of incoming tourists in April, May and June of this year were up 17%, 36% and 44%, respectively, over the same months last year. 519,900 tourists entered Israel in the first seven months of 2003, a 10% increase over the same period last year. Tourism Minister Benny Elon says that current data strengthens Tourism Ministry estimates that approximately 1.2 million tourists will enter Israel this year.
